AIQS NEWS 81 (CAST)
38 AIQS News 81 to touch emotions and save them later as good memories. It shouldn’t break or break down and it shouldn’t need to be very expensive. A lot cheaper in fact than the robots I saw in some stores this year. The cutting-edge one robot I saw in one store is awesome but it made me think, too. It is a beautiful cute doggy, full of sensors which recognize your caressing, your voice and so it enables it to respond to every person differently but with the added advantage that it doesn’t need to go to the street, neither to the vet nor eat. And when you’re tired with its company you switch it off and it will go to recharge its battery. And if your child decides to kick its head off he won’t bite him/her nor bark. But, sorry for digressing, we were looking for something more constructive, like a “trip”, an experience, anywhere you decide but with people you love, be those family, friends, neighbours or alone if you feel like doing it on your own. Few years ago Millennials coined a new term “Solo travellers” as a new concept of travelling alone and then meeting other people on your way who were also travelling solo. But, what else? as Mr. Clooney would say. I miss going to the theater or cinema on Christmas day or Saint Steve’s day, I used to do it when I was young but now given my older status I am in charge of the cooking and everything entailed when you are the host of one of these events. Maybe theater programmers should take these dates more into account and program more Christmas plays, not about Christmas necessarily but something appetizing to see on those dates. Maybe more popular prices would be welcome, too. But there are more budget options such as Christmas concerts in the Palau de la Música, or cinema movies in the cinema, please Netfllix andHBO are very practical and convenient for the rest of the year. Event tickets are regularly expensive in our modern world so wrapping them up as a Christmas gift could be an excellent idea. Thinking about shows, every Christmas time I still recall the fantastic gift that Dickens gave us when writing “A Christmas Carol”. That story which deals with compassion and forgiveness and Mr Scrooge. One of the things I enjoy the most every Christmas, is the only radio drama that “la Ser” radio station offers everyChristmas day, reminding us of the once such successful radio dramas of the Spanish radio. Those were real free events, indeed. Few years ago they offered “ A Christmas Carol” and I can still feel the goosebumps on my skin. So, from now on, be careful, from panellets to the Three Wise Men cake you are going to face Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Sales, Offers, Last Minute Offers and who knows how many temptations to spend your Christmas money on. And as Don Quixote said: “The person who possesses wealth is not made happy by having it but by spending it, and not spending it haphazardly but in knowing how to spend it well”. Merry Christmas to you all !!! MANAL ZAHRAA MURAD monday3morning@gmail.com
