AIQS NEWS 82 (CAST)

38 AIQS News 82 Europe. We are very thankful for that, in particular to the IQS Tech Factory. Oriol, the director of the IQS Tech Factory mentors us from the very beginning. Further, iBreve is supported by the EU-wide research & innovation initiative WEAR Sustain for the development of sustainable wearables and by the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT Health), a network of health innovators backed by the EU. iBreve is also supported by a network of academic and medical institutions in the USA called CIMIT. What’s does iBreve brings new to the market? iBreve’s newpatent-pendingwearable technology analyzes respiratory patterns in real-time, enabling market applications for respiratory treatment, seizure prediction and stress management. We created iBreve on what we call the 4 P’s of future healthcare. iBreve is personalized and adapts to to the user’sneeds inreal time. It is predictive by learning from past situations and calculates personal baselines. Thus, it can act preventative by providing the tools to avoid stress peaks. And fourth it is participatory . iBreve puts the user in control and empowers self-care. What also differentiates us from other innovators is that we focus on women’s health & well-being and designed a beautiful and discreet wearable that attaches to the bra. How the iBreve tech does work to detect the stress in women? So we all know how it feels to be stressed. But did you know that the way you breathe strongly influences your stress level? Long deep diaphragmatic breaths help us to calm down where as shallow fast breaths can trigger our fight or flight system. iBreve makes stress management easy. iBreve is a wearable that analyzes breathing patterns in real time. iBreve’s machine learning algorithm prevents stress by identifying patterns leading to stress, like shallow breathing, and treats stress by guiding through clinically proven relaxation exercises. Although both genders are at high health risk from the negative effects of stress, women & men report different reactions to stress and manage stress in different ways. We also noticed there are only a few appealing wearables for women, but a large unmet need for improving health in particular with focus on prevention. Why do you think a technology like yours was necessary? While stress also has positive aspects, we noticed many people in our fast- paced modern world suffer from the negative effects of stress. While we cannot avoid stress completely, we can get better in dealing with stress. We offer an easy to use tool to calm down in moments that matter. In general, we see a big trend for breathing exercises, however wrist worn devices like apple or fitbit cannot measure breathing patterns. iBreve on the other hand is able to differentiate between types of breathing and personalizes relaxation exercises specifically to you. What type of clients do you work for? Initially we offer iBreve to women who know already about the benefits of breathing from her occasional yoga class, but really struggle to bring the calmness from her yoga mat to the office desk. Later, we launch iBreve4men and also a medical version for patients who suffer from anxiety and respiratory diseases.
