AIQS Alumni receive the distinction of centenary entity

On Wednesday 8 February 2023, the AIQS Alumni received the distinction of a centenary entity from the Barcelona City Council, in recognition of its long-standing links with the city.

The Mayor of Barcelona, Ada Colau, presented the distinction to the president of AIQS, Jordi Martí. Also in attendance were Fr Enric Puig SJ, president of the Patronato IQS, Albert Puyuelo, president of the AIQS 2016-2020, and Jaume Àrboles, president of the AIQS 2006-2016.

A total of 97 centenary entities and institutions were the first to receive this new distinction at the ceremony held in the Saló de Cent, chaired by the mayoress and conducted by Enric Calpena. The historian and journalist spoke about the centenary organisations, explaining how Catalan society, since Roman times, has embraced the idea of associating to achieve goals that cannot be achieved individually.

The event was broadcast live, and anyone interested can watch it at this YouTube link

Here’s to a hundred more years of weaving community and contributing knowledge, and many thanks to all those who have contributed to this!
