New digital platform for the IQS Alumni community: AIQS Alumni Life

With the college bar as the stage, Ivan Medina initiated the act by talking about the IQS label that defines all the former pupils and that they carry around the world with pride. From there, he made a leap back recalling that moment in which you are finishing your career and planning to find work, a moment that we lived again from the hand of Marina Pozo, a Biotechnology student at IQS, and Xavi Rodríguez, who is finishing ADE and Chemistry. While she noted that “having contacts with people who are already in the world of work could help enough to find work and also to receive advice from their experience”, Xavi remarked that “when you’re close to the world of work, you start to see that if you’re IQS you value yourself”.

For his part, Ainhoa Roche’s testimony offered the vision of the recent graduate who has been in his first job for little more than a week, namely Carburos Metálicos, collaborating on the design of a hydrogen industrial plant. “For me IQS is much more than just a university, since in the end it is a network of contacts, an identity, and when you finish the grade, you come out saying I’m IQS and this today has a value.”

The assistants were able to learn the story of Frederic Torralba, who works in the Marketing department of Grífols in Shanghai. This desire to go out already came from the first exchange in the United States during the race, and “on the completion of the master’s degree I saw the international theme interest me.” “The experience is very interesting – it continued – because it is a way of understanding the world quite different from the one we have.

New Alumni Platform: the promised gift

As early as 23 January, the director of IQS, Salvador Borrós, promised that there would be many surprises and one of them was the presentation of the new website AIQS Alumni Life. “The former director already started working on a platform for students and better than taking advantage of the 100th anniversary of the Association to improve this extraordinary network of professionals he has created and, at the same time, to strengthen the links between IQS and AIQS”.

For her part, the Digital Transformation Manager of AIQS, Montse Gallart, noted that “we want to thank the Chemical for giving us this gift that will enable us to activate contact with people around the world”.

The new directory: a join link

The person responsible for the development of the new AIQS Alumni Life platform has been Sara Botifoll, a tool she explained “becomes with the will to be the bond between alumni and the university, accompanying them along their personal and professional career”. And it’s that, in his words, “we’re still in training for the rest of our lives, so I’m convinced that it will help them a lot in their career development.”

As Botifoll noted, “inscription to the alumni’s community has no additional cost, but there is the option of being associated through which, by paying an annual fee, additional advantages can be enjoyed.” With all this, he concluded, “I encourage you to join and share it with your fellow-promotion partners to make the community much bigger”.

For his part, Roger Prat, who is responsible for Communication from the AIQS, stressed that “It is a spectacular gift and we really needed such a platform because it will help us a great deal to respond to all these concerns that have been shown by the various witnesses that we have been able to know throughout the event”. For example, he added, “the Marta and the Lourdes will have more access to the people of their promotion, or others like Charles will have to change sector will find people who can help them to guide themselves in a new world, or if someone has to work in China they will have comrades like Frederick.” For his part, students such as the Navy, Xavi or recent incorporated into the working world such as Ainhoa secure “need to be more oriented or more knowledgeable about a company and the platform will give them this opportunity,” he added.

Over 600 enrolled

It should be noted that over 600 people are already enrolled on the AIQS Alumni Life platform, which is part of up to 42 different professional sectors and is spread out around the world. This is a great real value of this community as being “might go anywhere on the planet or any business and find an IQS that can help you,” explained Roger Prat.

To encourage promotions to join the portal, AIQS announced that it will reward all those who succeed in having all its members with a “pica-pica”.
