Visit of Fr. Arturo Sosa SJ, to AIQS Alumni
In the framework of the visit that Fr. Sosa SJ, is developing to Catalonia for the commemoration of the Ignatian year – Ignatius 500 – visiting the sacred sites where St. Ignatius developed his work, he held an informal talk with the members of the Board of the AIQS Alumni, chaired by Jordi Martí, the President of the Board of Trustees of IQS Fr. Enric Puig SJ, and its managing director Dr Salvador Borrós. During the meeting, they discussed the day-to-day activities of the AIQS Alumni, the events of its centenary and its vocation of service to alumni, as well as its intention to focus its next efforts on the membership of the younger generations of professionals who have completed their studies at IQS.
Fr. Sosa SJ, underlined the challenges of the centenary Alumni Associations not to fall into the complacency of looking at the past, but to challenge themselves to constantly update their objectives together with alumni of all ages and professional backgrounds: “It is the beginning of their second hundred years and not the end of their first hundred years”.
As a culmination of this visit, the AIQS Alumni and other entities such as the College of Sant Ignasi de Sarrià, made floral offerings at the Eucharistic celebration that took place in Santa Maria del Mar, officiated by the Cardinal Archbishop of Barcelona, Juan José Omella; Fr. Sosa SJ, shared the ceremony and preached at such a celebrated event.
